Once upon a time, every home longed for a piano. It usually stood in the living room like a promise\u2014of culture, a better future for the children, and cozier evenings. Over time, this promise faded, sending the fate of these old instruments down unexpected paths: gathering dust in homes or moved out into stairwells and courtyards, they became decorative accents, merely a reminder of their long-standing practical purpose.<\/p>\n

\u201cCompost\u201d begins where the history of musical instruments usually ends. Three pianos\u2014rejected, distanced from their usual sound and appearance\u2014become a fabric that, as it gradually decomposes, nourishes and creates new life: the three performers audibly transport the listener to a mystical space imbued with Lithuanian folk motifs. There, a dialogue emerges between those who would normally shy away from one another. A circus artist juggles and balances among the instruments, blending into the process of making music, while the movement on stage and the sounds produced create a space for these means of expression to gently blossom. As a result, the entire stage transforms into a playground where objects take on new functions, and the performative language of the body becomes the connecting thread that unites all these elements.<\/p>\n

This is an audio fairy tale, based on games and folklore motifs, about our relationship with the environment around us, objects, and cultural symbols\u2014one that opens up space to ask: what can emerge when we allow our perspective on symbols to change?<\/p>\n
