This is a story about a family in which pain and unspoken secrets are passed down from generation to generation—like an inheritance that brings blindness, forcing the family to repeat its mistakes. Intergenerational trauma manifests here through everyday decisions, fears, and poor choices. Hope—faint but tenacious—remains as the last thread holding a person to their humanity.

The simple story of a family of fishermen raises universal questions about how the past shapes the present, and whether it is possible to break free from the cycle of inherited trauma. It raises universal questions: Do we really have the right to choose? Why do communities repress themselves? And how do we imperceptibly become indifferent to one another’s suffering…
